"Definitely Stowmarket for obvious reasons, not only is it a very special town to many people, but it also represents the beating heart of Suffolk."

"We are creating a 'Wall of Challenges' in our playground which consists of 500 children's ambitions for 2012 along with approximately 70 contributions from Olympians, Paralympians and prospective medalists in London all on ceramic tiles. They include challenges from Lord Coe, Sir Chris Hoy, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Tom Daley, The Rt Hon Tessa Jowell and many others - a lasting legacy for 2012."

"Because Ipswich is a great town and we would give a fantastic welcome to the torch."

"Hi, I'm Tony, Director of the Museum of East Anglian Life. Stowmarket is the obvious destination for the torch as it is the centre of the Suffolk universe. The town is the most 'authentic' in the county, not chocolate boxy, but certainly not unattractive. Its a working town and Stowmartians are really proud of the place. It also has a great museum - if the torch comes at the end of June we can cradle it at our fabulous beer festival. Eschew the obvious places - Aldeburgh, Lavenham, Bury, Ipswich! Stow is the place.
Failing that I'm sure we'd be happy to keep an eye on it here in Benhall "

"We think the torch should go to Aldeburgh ! definitely ! Everybody knows why :)"

"Lavenham is the perfect Suffolk village for the torch to pass through. It is how any stranger would visualize Suffolk, with its beamed houses and narrow streets."
Veronica Cowlin, Lavenham |
|
"I think the torch should pass through Suffolk, especially Pakenham, near Bury St Edmunds. To see two mills - one water powered and one wind powered would really show what what Suffolk and the UK is all about."
Julie White, Derby, UK |
|
"The torch should come to Suffolk because it of it's diverse arts culture, stunning heritage and beautiful countryside. I love Suffolk."
Joanne, Ipswich |

"I think the Olympic Torch should pass through Framlingham, a lovely market town with an amazing Tudor castle. The torch bearer could climb to the top of the battlements and do a circuit of the castle ramparts."
Brigit , Framlingham |
|
"Surely the torch should make a visit to Constable Country. I think it should transported in a rowing boat along the River Stour."
Jim, East Bergholt |

"I'm Alex and I work for the tourism partnership. I think the torch should come to Lavenham where I live. Lavenham is one of the most authentic areas of Suffolk and shows the rich heritage of the county. It is a wonderful place to live with a great community both in welcoming the many visitors and the residents who are all very proud of this historic village."
